Ask the Coach: Losing Weight

Question

I am a female who is trying to lose weight but I seem to have hit a stumbling block in achieving my goals.

Answer

pictureThere are a number of different reasons that you have encountered a roadblock in achieving your goals. Your food diary may provide you with the answers you are looking for. It is important to verify the quantities of proteins, fats and carbohydrates in your diet as a common mistake I see is a lack of protein intake. This lack of protein leads to a problem in balancing your blood sugar levels which can lead to an over consumption of carbohydrates specifically sweets and foods that turn into sugar quickly like breads and pastas. Other reasons for a roadblock to fat loss can be as simple to dehydration or as complex as too much toxicity in the body affecting the bodies ability in excretion.

More often than not I find the problem in the food diary where a few little white lies to yourself fail to appear. Alternatively you may not be achieving the results for lack of compliance with the two rules of the kitchen.

Rule number one states that if there is junk food in your kitchen you will eat it. People can resist everything except temptation and you are tempted enough in everyday life without you dangling it in front of you.

Rule Number two
states that if you are following the food recommendations and you are not achieving results I want to search for the goodies stash under your bed.
