Ask The Coach: Big Lies of Building a Better Body

Don’t Fall for these Fibs of Physique Development

Do Women need to train differently than men?

On a microscopic level there is virtually no difference between male and female muscle tissue. Men and women have different levels of the same hormones. Men have up to ten times the amount of the hormone testosterone than women and that is responsible for the difference in the amount of muscle they can typically gain. There are absolutely no reason men and women who have the same goals should train differently than each other. For example, a woman might desire to develop her ass a little more in a pair of jeans. Conversely, a man might want to build his back a little more so he develops the classic V-shape from shoulders to waist.

If you do hundreds of sit-ups a day, you’ll eventually achieve a narrow wash board type mid-section ?

Doing thousands and thousands of sit ups will give you tight abdominal muscles but they will do nothing to rid your mid-section of fat. It is analogous to owning a Ferrari that is locked up and covered by a garage door. You know its there but no one else can see it. To reveal a six pack, you must perform exercises that use a lot of muscles like squats, lunges, presses and chin ups to burn off more energy so that you can reduce the amount of fat on your body. These exercises coupled with a tailored nutrition plan will help you reveal your wash board abs
